In the summer of 2022, My Voice Music partnered with The Dougy Center to bring a week-long grief and songwriting workshop called “Death Jams” to MVM Studios for youth and young adults experiencing loss. The result was a musical duo called Vacant Balloon who created a modern alt-rock classic, “Left Behind." This is the story of Vacant Balloon frontperson, Ethan, which premiered at My Voice Music's 15th anniversary gala, MVM XV in June 2023.

Partners
Dougy Center is a nonprofit organization based in Portland, Oregon that offers peer grief support groups and to children, teens, young adults, and their families and is a national leader in offering support and training to others seeking to assist children who are grieving. Since our start in 1982, we have served over 55,000 individuals in our groups.
My Voice Music teaches youth to write, record, and perform original songs. As our name suggests, our vision is that all youth have the opportunity to find and share their artistic voice. To this end, we have awesome programs that reach over 2,000 kids a year!
